Still

In the days of film photography, movies were films, or motion pictures, and stills were single-frame images. We don’t use the word “still” much anymore, but it makes a lot of sense to me as the name for this group of images. They are, of course, individual “still” images. But more than that, they are long exposures that capture a landscape only the camera can see. While recoding the image, the camera is “still” while the landscape moves in front of it. And the resulting image conveys a sense of “still”-ness that we as observers may feel, but only the camera can see.

Don’t panic – More pictures will be added to this gallery as I write additional posts about images from my Still portfolio.
